Cruise

Port Chalmers is the primary South Island port for the cruise ship industry and the ideal port of call immediately before or after visiting Fiordland.

Otago and Dunedin

The Otago Peninsula is home to the world’s only mainland Albatross breeding colony and various other ocean bird, seal and penguin species, including the rare Yellow Eyed Penguin.
Dunedin’s beautiful architecture is widely regarded as the best example of a Victorian and Edwardian heritage city in the southern hemisphere.

Fiordland cruise

As a UNESCO World Heritage site, many cruise visitors consider Fiordland to be the jewel in the New Zealand crown. Port Otago pilots the majority of cruise vessels in and out of the isolated fiords. To ensure reliability, a company-owned pilot launch is permanently based in Fiordland during the cruise season.
